Adopt-a-Paw · Last updated 7 October 2026
Adopt-a-Paw is run by THE PET WELLBEING COMPANY PTY LTD (ABN 13 673 319 652) in Australia (“we”). It introduces rescue animals to the people who might take them home. Questions: support@spot-a-paw.com.
What we collect
- Account: your email address. One a-Paw account works in all our apps. You can look without one; an account is needed to keep an animal, to apply, or to run a rescue.
- If you run a rescue: its name, whether it is a rescuer or a shelter, its area and country, and the animals you list with their photographs and details.
- If you apply: the answers on the application — the kind of home, whether there is a garden, other pets, children, and why you want this one — and the messages you and the rescue exchange afterwards.
- Animals you keep: which ones, so they are there when you come back.
What we never collect
- Your location. Adopt-a-Paw does not ask for the location permission and does not read it. An area is typed in by a person.
- Payments. Nothing is bought in the app today. Shelter Pro becomes a store subscription later; the store takes the payment and the app only learns whether the plan is on. We never see card details.
- Advertising, analytics or tracking. There are none, and nothing is sold or passed to anybody.
What other people see
A published animal, its photograph, and the name and area of the rescue holding it are public — that is what a listing is for, and those photographs are kept in a public bucket. What you have kept is private to you. An application and the messages on it are seen only by you and that rescue.
Reporting and blocking
You can report a listing or a conversation, and block a person. A report goes to a review queue and the person is not told who sent it. A block hides their messages and stops them writing to you; the people you have blocked are listed on your account, where you can unblock them.
How we use it
Only to run the app: to show listings, carry applications and messages between an adopter and a rescue, and provide support.
Who processes it for us
- Supabase (database, files and sign-in; stored in Sydney, Australia)
- Apple and Google, and RevenueCat, for Shelter Pro when it is switched on
Permissions the app asks for
Internet; the camera, to photograph an animal; and on Android 12 and below, reading storage so you can pick a photograph. No location permission is declared at all.
Deleting your data
On the a-Paw account page, which deletes your account, your applications, your messages and anything you have listed, in every a-Paw app. You can also email us.
Children
Adopt-a-Paw is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will update this page and the date above if this policy changes.
